It’s Easy to be Green when you’re a Forest God

It’s relatively easy to be green when you’re a Forest God:     It’s a bit easier when you’re a Shield Bug:   But when you’re a Grasshopper, it’s so easy that you never need to give it a second thought:   For another Green post , see Going Green in Barca.   For more interpretations on the theme of green from bloggers worldwide, click on the link below: WORDPRESS Photo Challenge: It is Easy to be Green

Armchair Trolleys and Dr Death (more Barca OddBalls)

More Oddballs found in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, for Cee’s OddBall Challenge this week  Some things are indescribable. Words just don’t do them justice and you have to see them for yourself.  I think these supermarket trolleys come into that category:   And how about Dr Death’s welcoming smile at the pharmacy door:

Designer Shoes in Profile: Fantasy versus Reality

Designer Shoes: the Fantasy  I saw all these shoes in a marvellous independent shop in the  trendy Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge.  Oh, to be a Bright Young Thing and have small, pointy feet!     My Shoes: the Reality: So inspired was I by all these colourful designer shoes on my screen, I thought I’d show you what the well dressed blogger is wearing this morning on her feet. (Well, it is a cold wet, wintery day and my house clogs are so very comfortable)   Thanks to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: View from the Side for giving me the idea for this post.

Regular Random: Five Minutes with a Fan

No fandango for me today! What can you do in 5 minutes with a fan? Apart from dance the fandango?  (The fandango is  a lively Spanish dance in triple time) Well, if you’re not up to this,  you can photograph it in as many different ways as you can in five minutes . An interesting and fun challenge I came across this morning. Welcome again to #RegularRandom, where we choose and object or scene and spend just five minutes shooting it, trying to see it from multiple angles, learning about how light interacts with the subject. It’s fun, although can be tricky to come up with new things to shoot. We’d love you to join in – just tag your post with regular random and link back to this post so we can find you. –  Delseyjane’s blog:  musingsofafrequentlyflyingscientist When I saw this challenge on Delseyjane’s blog this morning, the idea instantly appealed to me. She had posted some amazing shots of a silver pear under #RegularRandom. I thought about the challenge over lunch and decided to photograph a Nespresso coffee pod.  But when I went upstairs to fetch camera and macro lens, this fan caught my eye. It was […]

Cats and Paper Bags Go Together Rather Well

Cats and Paper Bags are always a good match:     As are cats and freshly changed bed-linen:   As well as cats and hampers:   And as for cats and boxes……   In fact, Misty and Bluejohn can make themselves comfy anywhere and everywhere in the house, AS LONG AS IT’S NOT IN A CAT BED! (If I had £1 for every bed I’ve bought for these cats over the years, I’d be a lot better off than I am now)   But, as long as they’re happy, then I’m happy: This post is dedicated to cat-lovers everywhere . But I’d like to give a special mention to a cool cat called Mr Bowie, who like these two is a British Shorthair. Mr Bowie (with a little help from his slave, Herman) has a marvellous blog called “Hands on Bowie”.  It’s well worth a visit.  While you’re clicking, why not also go over to see how bloggers from around the world interpret this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge: A Good Match   Miaow!

The Reindeer who was Left Behind on a Balcony in Barca

Looking up in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter I saw a luminous reindeer. This was a first for me, which made it memorable. Had it been mid-winter, this wouldn’t have been unexpected.  But this was early September on a swelteringly hot evening.     I often look at this picture and smile……. and wonder……. (There’s a children’s story here just waiting to be written).   For more OddBalls from bloggers around the world, why not head over to Cee’s OddBall Challenge:
